1875: New Members
By the fall of 1875, Flora Crane had been initiated. For this tiny cluster of ladies, competing with Alpha Phi during rush (now
recruitment) seemed a daunting task but when they received word that three young ladies from Fredonia, New York – Ida Noble (Syracuse, 1875), Elizabeth Haywood (Syracuse, 1875) and Flora Humason (Syracuse, 1875) – intended to register, they were immediately and successfully courted upon their arrival in Syracuse. Kate Foster (Syracuse, 1875) joined as well, being initiated in October, 1875.
